Have you been prescribed a medication that is an Exception Drug Status (EDS) benefit or one that is not listed on the formulary?

Yes

If you would like to ask the Saskatchewan public drug programs to cover this drug for you in your specific circumstances, there is a specific process you have to follow. Your prescriber is required to submit a special request for you to the EDS Unit (or the MS Drug Advisory Panel in the case of multiple sclerosis treatments) before it can be covered.

If the request is approved, then the medicine would be covered for you in the same way as a regular formulary benefit is managed.

If the product is denied, then it would not be covered by the plan and not eligible to be calculated as part of your cost-sharing responsibilities.
